The holidays this year were really fun for me. I tend to be a bit of a homebody by default, so not having to go anywhere was actually pleasant for me. I really do miss everyone, and as much as I enjoy relaxing at home, I am sad that I didnt get to see my family or friends over the holidays this year. But, thats a small price to pay for the benefit of keeping as many people safe as possible.

If you follow this blog, you noticed a long period of silence there. I tend to update a few times each week, and I havent posted since October (its now January) so that was a very long break for me.

I was painting regularly that whole time, but I was unable to post because the application that I use to post to my blog was no longer working. Im not sure if its fixed yet, but I decided to stop waiting, and now Ill be posting using a different solution until thats resolved.

I definitely dont want to go through and write a post about every painting I have done during this break, so instead I thought Id just post some of the pictures here. I may get around to writing up about a few of these, but for now, Ill just toss the images up here to show what Ive been working on.

  1. Hey man, just found your site through your Reddit post on the tree study. I’ve been trying to teach myself watercolor for the past couple of years, as well, so I’m really looking forward to going through some of your posts. Glad you’re still going–keep it up!

    1. Thanks Dan, I hope you are able to find some helpful stuff here. Check out the resources page, theres a lot of links to things you might find helpful.

  2. Great work, man. I’ve been checking this blog weekly or more for the last year and it’s been great. It’s good to see you back.

    1. Thank you so much! I know my appreciation sounds hollow, given that its coming through digitally like this, but your comment really does mean a lot to me. I wonder often if anyone reads this thing, so knowing that there are folks who check in from time to time is a genuine encouragement. In fact, I was thinking of this comment when I posted my write up on the chickadee just now. I almost didnt write about it because I am not super happy with the final product, but knowing that someone checks in gave me the encouragement I needed to get back on the horse, and write. This process really does help me a lot, so Im glad to be back at it.
